One thing that particularly touches me about the Japanese is their contemplative soul. Perhaps it's because objects and places are imbued with spirituality for them. The spirit of the place. Finding beauty where it lies hidden and pausing. The inner emotion contrasts with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Contemplation as a time for reflection on the world and things. Just like the evening beauty ritual that brings us back to ourselves and teaches us more about our own existence.

This new meditation pavilion, born from the imagination of architect Hiroshi Nakamura, is located in Tokyo for the well-being of its inhabitants. A 600-year-old tree, sacred to the gods, stands before us, immense and protective. It releases a soothing breeze amidst these hot and humid months. When the sacred comes to cradle our reality.
